"...Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture" (John 10:7-9).

How Do You Imagine God?
God in America and USA WEEKEND Magazine are partnering to explore Americans' images of God.

How do you imagine God? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Biblical Christians do not have to imagine who or what God is because they know, of a certainty, who and what He is. In the Book of Hebrews we are told the following: "Who being the brightness of His (the Father's) glory, and the express (i.e., exact) image of His (the Father's) person, and upholding all things by the word of His (Christ's) power, when He had by Himself (Christ) purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high..." (Hebrew 1:3). Jesus Christ (God, the Eternal Son) took His rightful place on the right hand of God, the Father (Psalm 110:1).

My Beliefs

I believe ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator A. Jesus Christ-the Author and Finisher of my salvation: (1)I believe Jesus' claim to be Jehovah-God. (2)I believe Jesus' to be equal with God...the Second Person of the Triune Godhead. (3)I believe Jesus' claim to be Messiah-God. (4)I believe in Jesus' acceptance of worship. (5)I believe in the authority of Jesus' commands. (6)I believe Jesus was worthy of the names of Deity attributed to Him. (7)I believe Jesus was given powers possessed only by God. (8)I believe Jesus is the creator of the universe. (9)I believe that there is only one savior (Jesus Christ). (10) I believe that all who reject Him are lost. (11)I believe that the Bible is the sole authority concerning the things of God. (12)I believe Jesus will come a 2nd time and will judge all who have rejected Him. (13)I believe that He will establish His Kingdom in Jerusalem and will reign forever. (14)I believe Jesus was crucified, died and was buried. (15)I believe Jesus rose bodily from the dead. B. Salvation (1)Salvation is by GRACE through FAITH (Ephesians 2:8-10). Faith involves knowledge of the gospel (Romans 10:14), acknowledgment of the truth of its message and personal reception of the Savior (John 1:12). Works cannot save (Ephesians 2:9), but good works always accompany salvation (Ephesians 2:10;James 2:17).
My most powerful moment of belief was ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator The night (July 14, 1996) when Jesus--in His mercy toward me--saw fit to save me from my sins and became my Lord and Savior. The night was turned to day and my sins were swept away. I have NEVER been the same since the moment He came into my life. All who have been saved by His blood know the feeling that I have experienced in my life. Jesus did not come to save the "good guys"...He came to save the "bad guys" (sinners like me). The "good guys" don't feel that they need a savior (but they really do) because there is no such thing as a "good guy" for the sriptures say "As it is written, there is NONE righteous, no NOT ONE: There is NONE that understandeth, there is NONE that seeketh after God" (Romans 10-11). BOTTOMLINE: We are ALL sinners (Romans 3:23)...and, as such, will go into perdition (Romans 6:23) unless we turn to the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation (Romans 6:23).
My greatest moment of doubt was ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator When I was younger I did not have any feelings one way or the other--I was just having a good time and living my life like there was no tomorrow--I didn't have time to think about God or stuff like that. I was young and I felt immortal...the world was my apple and it had no worms. It was only when I got older that I realized that life is finite...it will someday end...then what? It gave me great pause for thought.
My spiritual life means... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator God saves people for a purpose...and that purpose is to proclaim His name among the nations (John 4:34-38). God sent His Son Jesus to save mankind from the consequences of their sins [i.e., the Second Death (Romans 6:23)]. When He saved them--He immediately sent them out to proclaim His name to all who would hear...and when they got saved they, in turn, sent out others to proclaim His name. This process continues to this day...and when the last person is entered into the Church by His grace through faith the Church will be complete and He will RAPTURE it...He will take His Bride away.
The biggest misconception about my faith/belief system is ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator The doctrine of SOLA SCRIPTURA embraced by Biblical Christianity is opposed by Roman Catholicism, some mainline Protestant and most cultic churches. They do not believe that the Scriptures are sufficient or are the only source of truth in the things pertaining to God. They ALL have one thing in common--they ALL have other sources of "truth" to supplement the INSPIRED Word of God. Too, they especially are opposed to the doctrine of salvation by GRACE through FAITH in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-10) and feel that they can do something to achieve their own salvation--which is not supported by the scriptures. So in order to support their belief systems they appeal to other sources of "truth" to reinforce their beliefs. BOTTOMLINE: The Bible refutes all of their arguments: "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be PERFECT, throughly furnished unto all good works" (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
My spiritual role model is ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Paul is--without a doubt--the greatest Christian that ever lived and the most HATED by the enemies of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is also HATED by many "christian" scholars...especially the ones who eschew the doctrines of Sola Scriptura and Salvation by Grace.
The tenet/practice/teaching I appreciate most about my faith is ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator The doctrine of the sufficiency of the scriptures is especially precious to me. As a Christian, I find solace in the fact that I can have direct communication with Him through His Word and have direction in my life according to the sovereignty of His will. Too, I find comfort in the knowledge that my God is the God of Israel...the God of the Fathers, Prophets, and Apostles.

My Faith History

As a child I believed ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator As a child I was raised by Italian parents who came to this country from Italy. I, then, was raised as a Catholic and attended Catholic schools through high school. I believed what the Church told me to believe and didn't question it because I believed my parents and loved them.
My spiritual journey has been ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator There was no spiritual journey for me...that is there was no prolonged struggle for truth. I was content as a Catholic--but when I was confronted with the truth of the scriptures as opposed to the doctrines of men...I accepted Jesus Christ when I heard the gospel of Grace.
I was raised as ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I was raised as a Roman Catholic in an Italian home.
Are your beliefs or practices different from your parents? If so, how and why? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Both of my parents are disceased. My parents never changed their beliefs and died as Roman Catholics. We never discussed religion at any time in our home and I don't know what they believed.
If you have children, did becoming a parent change your relationship to faith? If so, how? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator No. I raised my children to believe in Jesus Christ as taught in the Scriptures.

How I Practice My Faith

Where and when do you practice your faith? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I live my faith in my everyday walk. The Christian walks by faith not by sight. Love your neighbor...do good by him and let him see Christ in you. Witness to him if you get the chance. Support your church with your tithes...support the missionaries.
Does your family practice more than one religion or faith? If so, how do you blend the traditions? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator No...there is only one faith in my family.
