I know you've cast my sins as far as the East is from the West. Jesus can you show me just how far the East is from the West. Cause I can't bear to see the woman I've been come rising up in me again. In the arms of your mercy I find rest. Cause you know just how far the East is from the West. From one scar[r]ed hand to the other. 'Casting Crowns' edited for me

My Beliefs

I believe ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator that God has revealed Himself throught the written word of the Bible, and through His Son Jesus Christ who though being in the very nature God became human in order to take on the sin nature of man and thus pay the penality for the sin nature that seperated us from God, and through the Holy Spirit who comes to guide us and reveal God and His will to us once we have accepted Jesus saving Grace of His blood to cover our sin nature and provide a bridge between our fallen nature and God's glory.
My most powerful moment of belief was ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator when I realized that I was a sinner and seperated from God. My destination when I died was Hell, a place where God's glory did not exist. I realized that I did not want to go there. I understood that the way to avoid this was to acknowledge that Jesus was God's Son. That He left Heaven's splender to come to Earth to take on the sin nature of man so that He could as a man pay the penality for man's sin nature and offer man a way of redemption. I accepted Jesus forgiveness for my sin and received the gift of the Holy Spirit. Today I know that when I die I am going to Heaven to be with God for eternity.
My greatest moment of doubt was ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator When my husband and I were experencing many difficulties. My husband had lost his job. Money was tight and my husband had lied to me. My job was not going well and bad things just seemed to keep piling up.
My spiritual life means... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator tursting God to lead and guide me each step of each day. To place my trust in Him in the good times and the bad knowing that no matter what He is there with me. He will never leave me nor forsake me.
The biggest misconception about my faith/belief system is ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Though some people will teach it the Bible never promised that we would not have problems. God only promised that He would walk through the problem with us. In fact He said He would refine us like gold in the fire, to remove the inpurities. AND fire hurt. But, His presence is like springs in the dry desert. 1 person liked this
My spiritual role model is ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Jesus. The only perfect person. Oh, to be like Him. If I were to pick a person. I would say my pastor. He is a very learned man who has a heart for God. His desire is to see Christian's live for Christ and sinners come to know Him.

My Faith History

As a child I believed ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I accepted Christ at the age of 9. I do not remember what I believed before that.
My spiritual journey has been ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator filled with ups and downs. But, I have never gotten to the point that I have deserted my faith in Him. I have cried and I have questioned. But, He has always proven to me that He cares and that in spite of my doubts the bad times have made me a stronger person.
I was raised as ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator For the first 6 years of my life my parents did not have any real belief system. My parents had gone to church as a childen but had not been in years. When I was 6 the man my father worked with invited us to an Independient Baptist Church. My mother and sibling begain attending. One by one each of us accepted Christ as our savior. It was not until I was around 12 that my father finally accepted Christ. My basic beliefs have not charge since then only been refined and broadened.
Are your beliefs or practices different from your parents? If so, how and why? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Not really. As I stated earlier, my views have been broadened and refined.
If you have children, did becoming a parent change your relationship to faith? If so, how? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Do not have children.

How I Practice My Faith

Where and when do you practice your faith? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator We attend a home church on Sunday morning and a established church on Sunday night. We also try to practice our faith by helping those in need and sharing God's word with others.
Does your family practice more than one religion or faith? If so, how do you blend the traditions? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator NO
How easy or difficult is it to live your faith? Why? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator It is always difficult to live for God in a sinful broken body. Even though we have accepted Christ as our Savior and have the Holy Spirit living in us, we still live in a sinful body. We are still tempted to do evil. This world is full of alluring things. Things that promise a good time. But, even more, things that distract us from our purpose, serving God. We are near sighted creatures. Oh, if ony we could keep our eyes focused on Him.
In my house, the thing that most represents my faith is ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator ME

Religion & the Public Square

What should be the role of religion in politics? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Religion was the reason for the founding of this country. And not just any religion but Christianity. However, the founding fathers did allow for freedom of religion. Therefore we can not discremanate against any religion. We do however need to guard the morals of this nation. Morals that were written into the laws and inplied by the founding fathers. We also need to get rid of this ideal that the constution states that there should be a SEPERATION BETWEEN CHRUCH AND STATE. That statement not there. The law states that the GOVERMENT SHALL NOT ESTABLISH A RELIGION. Big difference.
Should courses about religion be taught in public schools? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I see no reason why not as long as they are presented truthfully. That includes Christianity. However, whenever Christianity is taught in schools today it is taught as a religion of rules. Teachers present it as a old fashion, outdated religion for idiots.
Should the Bible, Torah, Quran or other religious texts be taught as works of literature in public schools? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator No. They are not literature. They are books that people rule there lives by. You can not break them down to just writing.
Is interfaith dialogue important? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I could see its benefit. However, there is to much pretential for disagreement, arguments and anger for this to take place in any but the most controled enviroment. Most people could not handle this kind of casual discussion.
Do you feel comfortable discussing your faith with others? Why/why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Yes I do. Because my faith is truth. My faith is my strength. My faith is my hope for the future, for life after death. For a future with God in Heaven not lost in a place void of His presence.
Do you feel that you have a duty, because of your faith, to put your beliefs into action? What are some of those actions? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Yes. Because the Bible (God)commands me to. Invite others to my Church. Tell others about God's saving Grace. Give to Missions. Give to charitys. Help people in need. Pray for others.
Are religious beliefs compromised by engaging in politics? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator No. In fact God wants his people to be leaders.
Has 9/11 had any impact on your thoughts about religion? Are you more/less interested in learning about other religions? Do you feel more/less comfortable expressing your religious beliefs? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I guess I have become more intrested in learning about other religions. I found myself researching the muslim faith to find what in their religion would have provoked them to do such a thing. I have since learned that in order to reach people of other religions you have to start where they are.
