My Beliefs

My Faith History

As a child I believed ... your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator that heaven was a beautiful place above the clouds with angels flying around.

Are your beliefs or practices different from your parents? If so, how and why? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator No. I never really bought into Christianity so as a young adult I started looking into other spiritual traditions. My present views are very much opposite of what I was brought up with.

How I Practice My Faith

Where and when do you practice your faith? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator First of all, faith doesn't accurately describe my spiritual perspective. I'm more interested in finding out truth or reality than relying on hoping or firm convictions.

Religion & the Public Square

What should be the role of religion in politics? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator None!!!
Should courses about religion be taught in public schools? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Only if all religions are covered. In other words, no, since that would be impossible.
Should the Bible, Torah, Quran or other religious texts be taught as works of literature in public schools? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Again, no, because objectivity and impartiality would be unlikely to be achieved.
Is interfaith dialogue important? Why or why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator Yes! God is God no matter what the tradition.
Do you feel comfortable discussing your faith with others? Why/why not? your photo/ link/ video has been held for approval by a moderator I am usually willing and open to let others know what I know about spiritual matters. Mostly, though, I listen to what others have to say.
