Mississippi County is located in the northeast corner of the state, on the mighty river from which it takes its name. Blytheville and the surrounding region have both a history and a modern economy rich in agriculture. Composer Steve Cooper's work for chorus and band, Song for the Delta evokes that history but also looks forward, encouraging the community cohesion so essential to its future.
