Oak Park, Illinois

Oak Park Area Arts Council's project will celebrate the signing of the Fair Housing Ordinance in 1968 and racial diversity in the village. The composer, James Kimo Williams, is a professor at Columbia College, and composer in residence for the Chicago Sinfonietta. The Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest will perform the piece with a nucleus of top high school and middle school musicians. Various choral groups will also perform. The premiere will take place on January 27, 2001.
