New Orleans, Louisiana

To celebrate the opening of the National D-Day Museum, the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra commissioned My Name is Citizen Soldier, the title drawn from Stephen Ambrose's book, in homage to WWII veterans and those who supported their efforts. The piece by composer/librettist team Frank Proto and John Chenault also commemorates the fact that the landing craft used during the D-Day invasion of Normandy were designed and produced in New Orleans.
