A Hill in the Country: Maine Suite, by composer Alexis Alrich and four Western Maine poets, celebrates the region's landscape and heritage and fosters a spirit of peace and respect among its people. Performing the piece, which blends both Maine's classical and Franco-American musical traditions, were several intergenerational groups: a 185-voice chorus of experienced and first-time singers, the Franklin County Fiddlers, a chamber orchestra, and two ballad ensembles.
