Traces of Mississippi celebrates the important role the railroad played in the rich history of Madison County and in preserving the legacy of the county's agricultural past. Composer Anne LeBaron created a piece for chorus, orchestra, narrators, and rap artists that brings together such diverse elements as train whistles, gospel spirituals, and sounds tinkling in the cotton fields to paint a musical portrait of the county's past, present, and future.
