Honoring Adams County's bicentennial was the theme for composer Robert Maggio. He researched and transformed two hundred years of history into fifteen minutes of music. His South Mountain Echoes, in three movements for concert band, is based on the area's early religious influences, the Civil War battle, and the agricultural and fruit-growing industries there. The Adams County Bicentennial Band premiered the work on July 4^th, 2000.
