Omak, Washington

The composition Landscape Changing, by Andy Teirstein, is a work for choir and orchestra with a Western/cowboy theme and includes Native American stories and cowboy poetry. As part of the work's premiere, Native American speaker Dayton Edmonds recited "Grandmother Turtle." A member of the Caddo Indian tribe, Edmonds is an exceptional storyteller who strives to give a voice to the voiceless. Also woven into the composition was a poem written and recited by cowboy poet Paul Steuerman.
