Parkersburg, West Virginia

Kenton Coe's The Unknown Region is a multi-movement work for combined choirs and instrumentalists. Based on a poem by Walt Whitman with interludes from several religious traditions, the theme of the work is the universal quest for faith in times of uncertainty. The rich tradition of choral singing in West Virginia was evident in concerts in Parkersburg and Charleston, the state capitol.
