Go to: ABOUT | ARTISTS & PROGRAM SELECTIONS | PRODUCERS & HOST | CREDITS ![]() Young Angels Choir Established in 1990, the Young Angels Choir is a nonprofit organization comprised of over 50 boys and girls ranging from elementary to high school age. The mission of the Young Angels Choir is to bring together the many diverse communities that call Los Angeles their home through music and harmony. The members of the Choir meet on a weekly basis to practice their songs and perform for the community at various community events and functions. The Choir also promotes Korean culture and music through special arranged performances that include cultural fan dancing, folk songs and Korean folk instruments. Korean-born conductor and bass-baritone Chung Uk Lee studied with Dr. Young-Jo Lee and holds a Bachelor of Music in Composition and Music Theory from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. Since moving to Los Angeles, he studied orchestra conducting with Hans Beer and voice with Bard Suverkrop and choral music with Dr. William Dehning and holds a Masters of Music in Choral Music from the University of Southern California. During his period of study at USC, he was awarded a full scholarship and was assistant conductor of the University Chorus and taught choral conducting. He is the conductor of the Los Angeles Chamber Choir, Elders Choir of Southern California, Young Angels Choir and Young-Nak Presbyterian Church of Los Angeles. He is currently teaching voice at Azusa Pacific University and choral music at Shepherd University.
