AFGHANISTAN UNVEILED

The Journey

Get Involved

A powerful reminder of independent media's power to bear witness, AFGHANISTAN UNVEILED reveals the effects of the Taliban's repressive rule and of the U.S.-sponsored bombing campaign on Afghan women. The ITVS Community Connections Project is partnering with organizations in a community engagement campaign that reaches out to public policy makers, human rights organizations, faith-based congregations, international relief agencies, students and cultural organizations. The campaign aims to educate audiences about the challenges faced by Afghan women, and provides refugee and immigrant organizations with tools to educate their communities about women’s changing roles in Afghanistan.

People have been interested in helping the women of Afghanistan. Here is AFGHANISTAN UNVEILED’s oral history specialist Shaista Wahab’s reply:

Thank you for your interest in helping Afghan women. I would recommend The Asia Foundation, the main sponsor of the training course for the Afghan women journalists. The Asia Foundation has a number of projects in Afghanistan. —Shaista Wahab
