Name: GlindaGlinda was discovered at SPCA after our beloved cairn terrier, Mac, passed away. She was an abused dog, had been picked up by animal protection services and was at the end of her "vacation" at SPCA. I looked at her and she looked at me and it was love at first sight. Everyone we knew thought we were crazy to get a 2 year old, abused dog. We named her Glinda because of the OZ connection with our cairn and worked to gain her trust. She is magical, loving and as our vet says, "thanks folks for salvaging this magical dog." She loves to flirt!
Name: CoyoA wolf/german shepard mix wandered into our family's life when I was three. He stayed for a year before wandering off again. I remember nothing of this time in my life but him. He was my protector and patient friend ... and we "spoke" to one another. I have never forgotten him. Shortly after my 50th birthday he came back. I opened the doors of my shop one dark morning and he was standing there looking at me. We have been reunited now for four years. My greatest wish is to be able to run with him when we are both on "the Other Side".
Name: WillyI love Willy. He is hours upon hours of entertainment and laughter. These are the top 3 cutest things that Willy does: 1) Wiggles on his back fighting with stuffed animals 2) Goes nuts in a blanket 3) Begs for tummy rubs What is life without a dog? ErikaName: Bekett Bekett is a three-year-old pit bull mix. Since she entered our lives one year ago, she continues to amaze us with her irrepressible dogginess. Although she's a cheerful girl, she is very serious about Kongs, carrots, peanut butter, walkies, the dog park (heaven!), squirrels and other dogs (let's play chase!). People often ask, "Zat a pit?" Well, sure. At 43 lbs. she's wee for a pit but she's got the punkin' head and a sleek muscular body. You can't tell from this photo, but she's covered in freckles that show through her white hair. Her sweet disposition makes her a good pit bull ambassador too. We'll always be grateful to Pit Bull Rescue Central http://www.pbrc.net for helping us find the perfect dog. jamzName: chumz arf! my name is CHUMMY and i'm 10 years old! i'm really a lil shy, and i run away from strangers..but i sure can produce a mean growl to scare you off first! GRRR! MaryName: Pip Hello!!! My name is Pip and although I'm sleeping in this picture, I'm really a fiesty little guy. I'm a 3lb Pomeranian who loves to fight with fuzzy bedroom slippers and then suck on them until I fall asleep. Sometimes Mom catches me in the trash can, but I swear that I'm a good boy, right?? Robyn MyersName: Korina (and pups) Korina is our 2 year old black lab / golden retreiver cross -- and a breeder for Canine Companions for Independence. CCI is a national non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs. The breeding and puppy-training is accomplished by volunteers, while the advanced dog training, and human-dog team training is done by professional trainers (with the support of many volunteers). We are Korina's Breeder Caretakers -- and this picture shows our first litter of CCI pups born in January 2002. In order from left to right they are Hilo, Hanai, Hoana, Hilani, Hoku and Hoaka. After two months at our house with lots of love, food and socialization, the end of March they headed off to their Puppy Raisers all around the country. One is in New York, another in Atlanta, two near Dallas, one near Sacramento, and the last in South West Washington state. In a little over a year, the pups will head back to one of five CCI National Training centers for advanced training, and those that pass will be placed with a person with a disability. These dogswill bring the miracle of love, support, and independence to their disabled owners. And by then, Korina will have had more puppies, and the process will continue. Some people wait a lifetime for a miracle, at CCI we raise them one (or more) at a time. http://www.caninecompanions.org arielName: Paolo Am I one puppy with, dare I say, a great sense of humor or what...?! I'm Paolo, now 7 months, the wonderful companion for my adopted mom. Here in NYC we go almost everywhere together. We are always stopped on the street due to my charm and personal style! Woof! NicoleName: Trixie My dog Trixie is really skinny and scared of strangers. She is nice but not to strangers! She is a little over 2 years old, but I can't imagine life wiyhout her. She is big and FURRY! Sharon WilliamsName: JACKIE 'O' Well I am a Jack Russell just like Spinnaker. My parents were immigrants to the USA from England and Scotland. I have had a very good life and I am Queen of the Ranch. Oh, did I mention I will be 20 years old this August 2002? That is a story in itself. I live with quite a few Jack Russells and if you would like to visit my friends, they can be found at www.angelfire.com/or/jackrussellsher
Alisha FoxName: Minnie My dog is a lovable pup. She knows the words, eat,lay and speak. She loves kids and is a beagle with lab in her. She loves strangers to but if you walk in the house in the middle of the night, she'll bark her head off! I went overseas with my family and had to leave her with my Grandma. Minnie likes other dogs. She also is a little fat. She plays catch, chase and hide and seek. That's my favorite game with her. Minnie is my best friend and I can talk to her whenever I need to.
Kate DahlbergName: Walter Walter's just over three months old and is growing like a weed. He can be vicious as a frustrated, spoiled child, but is sweet as a angel when he's tired. He's a floppy lab with white huskie fur, tan blush on his cheeks and back. His sweet face is slowly blurring the memory of my Lucy girl, the greatest golden that ever lived, who was put down this summer. I can only hope he'll be as sweet.
RosName: Shilo Shilo is very special. I had dogs when I was a kid, and had always wanted another one as an adult. I was lucky to have found Shilo through an ad a breeder had placed. You see Shilo was one of the German Pinscher pups this breeder produced from her first litter. She was looking for a good home for him, because he was "pet quality". You see Shilo's chest markings are not perfect, and his ears didn't stand as perfectly as the breeder would have liked, BUT what is perfect about Shilo is his disposition, and personality. He loves the world, and everyone who meets him, loves him too. I am so lucky to have found him, I wish he could live forever. As you can see in this photo, Shilo has a habit of taking my side of the couch whenever I get up to do something. I don't mind in the least, since he is kindly keeping my seat warm, ha,ha,ha. I love him very much he is my bestfriend, and he too can read my moves like a book. He is very expressive in his facial expressions, a very "animated" dog himself. He has trained me
Jeanette HooperName: Tai Hee My nickname is Tai-Tai I am a 5 yr old sable pomeranian. My favorite game is "ring the little dog" Since I am too little to run with a frisbee my person bought me one with a hole in the center and I flip it over my head and run right back with it so she can throw it again! I have to make sure my person gets her excersice she has MS and so I take good care of her. Of course I only sleep on my own pillow in the big bed. |
