Byron Hunt, Hip-Hop: Beyond Beats & Rhymes filmmaker

Byron Hunt’s film drew acclaim for its incisive and even-keeled, even critical, overview of some of the issues associated with this important music genre. It’s an “ambitious collage of revealing interviews and pop-culture overviews, employed to illustrate Hurt’s meditation on the uglier aspects of hip-hop culture,” wrote Joe Leydon in Variety. The Boston Globe called the film “captivating.”
