2007 Audience Award Runner Up
A colorful drawing of a cat peeking out against a blue flower, next to an image of Jimmy Mirikitani, with a long gray beard and wearing a red scarf and hat, standing in front of a spray-painted metal door and raising two fingers in a peace sign
Eighty-year-old Jimmy Mirikitani survived the trauma of internment camps, Hiroshima and homelessness by creating art. But when 9/11 threatens his life on the New York City streets and a local filmmaker brings him to live in her apartment, the two unexpected friends embark on a journey to confront Jimmy's painful past.
