Amos Schocken is the third generation of his family to be publisher of the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, the oldest and most internationally respected newspaper in Israel. In DEMOCRACY ON DEADLINE he echoes the commitment of his reporters in the field, persisting in publishing stories that give voice to the realities on both sides.
