I was so moved by the strength of purpose of both Jeannie Epper and Zoe Bell. I encourage Jeannie to keep trying for that Stunt Co-ordinator position. But remember that the suport you give to the stunt woman's community is probably just as important. Speaking as a sucessful woman in a machine tool world I know what it is like to try to get men to take you seriously. To Zoe, I am just thrilled that you made the right connections and got yourself in the right position to succeed. Stay strong. And Keep Healthy! 6/17/05

Aloha!

I've always been a huge Lucy Lawless fan, but it wasn't until I recently watched Double Dare that I was able to see who it was that actually made Xena Warrior Princess look so great. YaaY Zoe! I wish nothing but the best for you in your career goals. I was so touched by this film that I opened up one of VERY FEW communities dedicated to Zoe.

Loved it. Couldn't turn off the TV and go to sleep even though I had to get up early early. So: Is Zoe healed? Is Jeannie still stunting?

I loved the program so much. I was up late one evening and my son was bugging me to watch channel 13 b/c that's his favorite channel. So, i caved in b/c he was giving me a hard time to go to sleep. I'm so glad i listened to my baby boy b/c that was the best program i've seen on television in a long time 6/2/05

THIS PROGRAM ROCKED!!! I really enjoyed this film, being a HUGE fan of Xena, Wonder Woman (I had to buy the dvds since it aired before i was born), and Kill Bill. I enjoyed watching this film because it gives you a great deal of insight in the stunt [person] profession as well as the deication that these STRONG INDEPENDENT WOMEN possess. I have seen a handful of the independent lens series, and I must say that I really haveenjoyed this one the most. I really wish that it could have been even longer, as I would have liked to see more of the action behind the scenes. I was thrilled to follow Zoe in her ventures to start her career in Hollywood after Xena, and was a bit saddened when I read at the end of the program to hear she was injured during the final days of Kill Bill (I wish her the best in her recovery). I also hope that Jeannie DOES NOT get the lipo, as she has remained so full of life, and does not need to feel as though she is not "young enough, or skinny enough etc.. I think she is still as much a WONDER WOMAN today as she was when she started her career. Despite her age I would absolutely love for her to get the job of stunt coordinator, as she has proven to many time and time again, that she has the right stuff to make great stunts, and make great stunts happen. HATS OFF to Amanda Micheli for bringing the pbs audience such a wonderful, entertaining and insightful program!! 6/2/05

I had the immense pleasure of meeting Zo Bell AND Amanda Micheli in 2000 while "Double Dare" was being filmed. I've been eagerly awaiting this film and upon finally seeing it, it didn't disappoint. I am so glad to see it being released to such a wide audience. 6/2/05

Given the fact that most stunts are hackneyed mechanisms employed chiefly to pad dumb films to serve in place of substantive plot or dialog - consider the car chase, sword fight, exits via a closed second floor window, etc., etc. - I was sceptical of the very subject matter. Alas, my doubts were soon substantiated - it proved as boring as my neighbors vacation videos. So I must admit that, after about twenty minutes. it was YAWN, ClICK, ZZZZZZZZZzzzz..... nite nite 6/2/05

Loved the show and hope it airs again. Like millions of people I'm a huge Xena and Kill Bill fan and was great to see the women behind the women.

On a different note, I'm glad there is a stunt awards and I am personally tired of these actors claiming they do all there own stunts, please most can't even act much less do Martial Arts. I hope that one day it will be aired live so the world can truy appreciate their hard work.

PS: The cartoon that followed was cute too. 6/1/05

Just wanted to say what a fun and inspiring film DOUBLE DARE was. The Epper and Bell families look like they really enjoy life and know how to have fun. What impressed me even more than the gender struggles portrayed in the film is that these people, regardless of gender, possess an incredible and pure zest for life, a strong dedication to family and a love of what they do. What a fun and adventurous kid Zoe Bell is and what a generous mentor she finds in Jeannie Epper.

Their professional community seems to be filled with a genuine care and interest in one another. The professional relationships captured on the sets of these major productions, and in the association meetings, were surprisingly down to earth and genuine. I was surprised to find such qualities in a story which revolves around Hollywood. The Hollywood film industry has such a bad reputation for being cut-throat, etc., it was refreshing to see such a real, human portrayal of this corner of the industry. There is so much junk coverage of the entertainment industry. A film like this shows the real, human side to this industry. I even liked Quentin Terrantino. He actually seemed like a normal guy at work and not like an overblown superstar director.

This film brought a realness to an industry which so often seems unreal. The essence of this story was in the gusto and dedication of Jeannie and Zoe and in the relationships between mentor and learner, between professionals and the support and care shared among family members. I loved it. I'm going to learn Karate! 6/1/05

"Double Dare" is the best thing I've seen on TV since "The Ramones," also an Independent Lens feature. I stayed up way too late to watch that one - I caught it on re-air at 2 am, and stuck with it till 4. Fortunately, I caught "Dare" the first time around. Thank God for women like Jeannie Epper and Zoe Bell, and thank Amanda Mitchell for seeing the story and making the film. Too bad my daughter - she's 14 - missed it. (School night, plus she was pooped.) She loved Xena when she was a "kid" - we used to watch it together, much to Mom's horror - and I'm a diehard Uma/"Kill Bill" fan. Now I'm a Zoe Bell fan, too. Thanks, PBS. Hope the CPB's new boss doesn't screw it all up. 6/1/05

One of the best human interest stories I've seen in a while. With Jeannie Epper as the veteran Iron woman of stunts mentoring the endearing, up and coming , Zoe Bell I found it hard too turn away. And just when you drew us all the way to that happy ending success of Zoe. you broke our hearts with Zoe getting injured filming" Kill Bill" . I hope she is alright .God Bless Jeannie and Co
