We invite you to respond to the questions below or add your comments. Selected submissions will be posted on our Talkback page, so check back regularly and join the discussion.
  • For some members of The Ramones, the band was not truly “successful” because it never achieved the commercial album sales of a Top 40 band. Would you consider The Ramones to be successful? What is your definition of artistic success?

  • Filmmaker Jim Fields says: “The Ramones had spent a career selling an image of a gang unified when that was not at all the reality. It was hard for them to come clean with us [the filmmakers] because they were so entrenched in the ‘story’ they’d repeat to the press.” Have you ever had to maintain a false image in order to meet someone else's expectations?

  • When did you first hear The Ramones? Did watching END OF THE CENTURY change your impressions of the band?
