Poetry for me was a way out... For decades, seminal Nuyorican author Piri Thomas has used poetry to confront poverty, racism and violence. Mixing spoken word with dramatization and documentary footage, EVERY CHILD IS BORN A POET is a multimedia chronicle of his transformation from gang member and prison convict to acclaimed writer, activist and educator.
