North America has a long tradition of missionary work, ranging from 18th–century Spanish missions in California to modern-day evangelism beaming into homes via Christian TV networks. Yet when two neatly groomed young men in suits knock on your door to discuss the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it might seem a little unusual. What motivates these young missionaries to leave home and spend two years spreading the faith?
