Talkback
Big Edie and Little Edie have had their story told in many ways: the original Grey Gardens documentary, a musical, a documentary about the musical and an HBO feature film starring Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange. Why do you think these women captured an audience for so long and affected people so deeply?

YOU MUST put this documentary which aired on PBS in December of 2008 on DVD. I caught most of it and want to see it again AND would like to now give it to my folks as a gift. It was great. Please!!!
PLEASE release this on DVD. I missed it and see that it's not playing again any time soon. I think many would be interested in this!
I need to have this documentary on dvd!
I watched it both times that it aired in the Detroit market and I've had it saved on my dvr since the last airing (01/04/09). We're changing our cable provider soon and I'm going to lose my recording -this hurts me like you wouldn't know-.
Please release this wonderful documentary about a documentary to the public!
Please release this film on DVD! With increased interest in the Beales because of the new HBO film, it will surely sell! Please help make this available to those who didn't catch it the first time around!
I saw the musical twice and watch your doc. Please release this on DVD with extended performances and interview with Christine. It would sell!!!!!
I just watched the HBO special. While I can appreciate the artistic interpretation from Drew Barrymore and Jessica, the actual relationship of the mother and daughter seem to disturb me. As a Broadway musical production the documentary would be great. As a film, it was a bit reminiscent of "Mother Dearest"...it left me feeling as if there were worlds of regrets between them.
please please please make this available in DVD. I enjoyed watching the original documentary, and then watching the Tony awards and seeing Christine Ebersole do her thing. I would really love to see this film, it would be fabulous if you could re-air it or release it on DVD, mother darling.
Yes PLEASE run this again or make a dvd available! I was in the orchestra of the Broadway Musical and missed the broadcast of the documentary...I would love to see it!
Ugh - I just saw yesterday that this had run on Dec. 23 and I missed it. PLEASE run it again! I've seen the movies and I had tickets to the Broadway show and it closed a week before my show dates - that killed me.
This really moved me and I look forward to someday watching the original documentary. Its too bad I didn't get to see its original Broadway run, it looked fantastic.
We are devastated that this important film will not be seen in the Chicago markets! It is not on our schedule tonight. The musical is perhaps the finest ever presented on Broadway. Considering that it was created from such difficult and controversial material, it is an even more important testament to the power of art and creativity. This story is a truly American story.
Don't forget the play "Little Edie & The Marble Faun" which had a run in NY this past January, 2008.
People have always been fascinated with Jacqueline Onassis and all of her aspects. This film, made in the height of Jackie-O popularity was seen as the story of the life of two very eccentric women who just happened to be related to the late Madame O.
Of course, those of us who grew up on the east coast were well aware of Big and Little Edie and their Bouvier past.
I look forward to seeing this film as it has been rather hard to find in the past few years.
Thank you for bringing it to PBS.
