Many Men
50 Cent
Queens, NY

WARNING! Contains explicit lyrics (included for critical review and commentary).

Now these pussy niggas putting money on my head
Go on and get your refund motherfucker, I ain't dead
I'm the diamond in the dirt, that ain't been found
I'm the underground king and I ain't been crowned
When I rhyme, something special happen' every time
I'm the greatest, something like Ali in his prime
I walk the block with the bundles
I've been knocked on the humble
Swing the ox when I rumble
Show your ass what my gun do
Got a temper nigga, go 'head, lose your head
Turn your back on me, get clapped and lose your legs
I walk around gun on my waist, chip on my shoulder
'Till I bust a clip in your face, pussy, this beef ain't over

Music is a very powerful form of communication, it very easy to retain the information submitted in the form of music. That's why childeren are taught the letters of the alphabet in song format. Music TELLS you what to think, you can't control it. You can literally HATE a song but you can listen to it one time and remember it. That's why people say stuff like, "I can't get that stupid song out of my head." As a man thinketh, so is he. Meaning who you are and the life you live is a sum total of all of your thoughts. Words have power. You can't put apples in a bag then expect oranges to come out. You mind is a depository, what you put in it is what you get out of it. The thoughts that consume your mind the majority of the time will manifest themselves in your life at some point, one way or another. Your thoughts go to your heart, once something goes from your mind to your heart it will begin to reflect in your actions. Your actions determine your lifestyle and your lifestlye determines your destiny.

James, this is just the sort of past the buck onto someone else. No one wants to take a stand and say the hip hop music of today has taken this generation and their parents, who introduced this generation to the music down a long, degrading road. One in which that was and will continue to set them back for decaded to come. There is no need for an education, no social skills,no consideration for one another.I said back in 1990 this music has no redeeming qualities, and it was then rated has hard core, not now rated as thug. Congradulations! Now you will have generations of youth who aspire to be THUGS. br>

I feel This song just simply tales a story ofa man who was done wrong. Some of the words he uses may not be apropriate. But who in this world is perfect. He is just laying out the facts and letting everyon else make their own choices. Like it or not this goes on in the world evryday he's just putting it out there. So if you choose to shot people, sell dope, and mistreat women it's your own choice. So stop blaming music. And start blaming your selves.

Many Men is typical of the kind of high-octane street epics that turned 50 Cent into a multimillionaire. This is basically his version of a gangster movie. There are bits of worthwhile observation in the song ("I'm a diamond in the dirt that aint been found.") But 50 didn't get famous because of his warm, fuzzy self-affirmation. 50 exists for the same reason that the two most iconic figures in American popular culture are the gangster and the cowboy: the ability to survive and initiate violence. "I walk around, gun on my waist, chip on my shoulder" -- we could just as well be talking about "Fist Full of Dollars" or "Goodfellas." Like it or not, 50 Cent represents a broader American fixation with violent manhood. And in this country those last two words in the previous sentence are redundant.
