- Filmmaker Ramona Diaz wanted to make a film “that went beyond the number of pairs of shoes Mrs. Marcos owned.” Did watching IMELDA change your perception of Imelda Marcos? If so, how?
- Imelda Marcos remains a controversial and contradictory figure, charged with numerous violations regarding fraud, corruption and human rights. Do you think that such a reviled public figure can also be sympathetic? Why or why not?
- When IMELDA, the documentary, was first released, Marcos attempted to ban it from being shown in the Philippines, even seeking a temporary court order against the film. Do you think that film “speaks for itself,” or can willing documentary subjects be victims of slander?
