What keeps her motivated as an independent filmmaker:
I have a really supportive family and worked with an incredible team that believed in the film and wanted it to be successful. I had an obligation to my family, and mostly to myself, to see this project through and get it out to the world.
Her three favorite films:
Los Olvidados, Volver, and Raising Arizona.
Her advice for aspiring filmmakers:
Be passionate about your story, know that doubt is inevitable, and always get your releases signed! I think you really have to believe in your story, as there will be so many obstacles and setbacks. You have to have confidence that there will always be an audience for a well-told story.
Her most inspirational food for making independent film:
I could not have completed my film without coffee or good dark chocolate.
