In the romantic comedy Cosmopolitan, director Nisha Ganatra (Chutney Popcorn) lovingly borrows from Bollywood to craft a film born of her two worlds, America and India. East Indian immigrant (Roshan Seth) lost in suburbia, uses Cosmopolitan magazine to pursue a neighbor (Carol Kane). The film features a zany dance sequence set in New York City’s Jackson Heights neighborhood. The independent film airs in the U.S. on the series Independent Lens on PBS stations in early June 2004.
