- Hip hop artist Ice Cube said: “I know if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't do hip hop as raw as I do it. I wouldn't know that it's cool for you to be who you are, and say what you feel and do it how you want to do it…. I learned that from George Clinton and Funkadelic more than anybody else in the music business.” How do you think music innovators influence the artists that come after them?
- Many of the bands and musical artists that were popular during the ‘60s and ‘70s are no longer on the music scene today. What do you think it is about George Clinton and the P-Funk mythology that keeps his funk at the forefront?
- When was the first time you heard P-Funk? Was it as Parliament, Funkadelic, the P-Funk All Stars, or sampled on a hip hop recording? Did watching the film, PARLIAMENT FUNKADELIC, change your impressions of the music, the band, the funk? If so, how?
