We invite you to respond to the questions below or add your comments. Selected submissions will be posted on our Talkback page, so check back regularly and join the discussion.
- Filmmaker Meema Spadola hopes that RED HOOK JUSTICE viewers will “think about the larger question of what we need beyond an institute like the Justice Center and how we can balance personal and societal responsibility.” Why do you think such a balance is important? In what ways do you feel that you personally balance these responsibilities?
- Community courts like the Red Hook Community Justice Center aim to get local residents involved with improving their own communities. What tools currently exist in your community, if any, that allow its members to effect change? What tools would you like to see exist?
- In RED HOOK JUSTICE, defendant Letitia Sanchez says, “Everybody makes mistakes. And I think we all got a chance in life to change, especially if you really want to.” Do you agree that everyone can change, if given the right chances? Why or why not?
