We invite you to respond to the questions below or add your comments. Selected submissions will be posted on our Talkback page, so check back regularly and join the discussion.
  • In SENTENCED HOME we learn that immigrants with permanent resident status—even those who have lived in the Unites States all their lives—can be deported for relatively minor offenses without individual review or recourse to appeal. Do you think this should be changed? If so, what should be done if “permanent residents” break the law?

  • Have you had personal experience with immigration or deportation? If so, how do you view the process in America, and how has it affected your life?

  • In general, do you think that immigration laws are too strict or too weak in the United States?
