Talkback

Submit your thoughts on SHERIFF.

We invite you to respond to the questions below or add your comments. Selected submissions will be posted on our Talkback page, so check back regularly and join the discussion.
  • Filmmaker Daniel Kraus said that SHERIFF is not meant to be humorous or dramatic, but different viewers have found it to be both. What was your reaction?

  • Did you like Sheriff Ronald E. Hewett? Is he a sympathetic character? Why or why not?

  • Kraus used cinema verité techniques—no music, interviews or narration—to form his character study of Sheriff Hewett. Does the verité style make the film seem more truthful than other documentaries? Why or why not?
