Heather CourtneyHeather Courtney received her MFA in film production from the University of Texas at Austin, where LOS TRABAJADORES was her thesis project. She has been nominated for a Rockefeller Film/Video Fellowship and currently lives in Mexico, where she continues research for a new documentary with the support of a Fulbright fellowship.

She has directed, produced and photographed documentaries and educational videos for nonprofits including Casa Speranta, Austin Tan Cerca de la Frontera and the Political Asylum Project of Austin. Prior to film school, Heather spent eight years working for various refugee and immigrant rights organizations, including the International Rescue Committee in the Rwandan refugee camps at the Tanzania/Rwanda border.
