Two blonde women, wearing identical black tank tops, smiles for the camera with one woman’s arm around the other’s shoulders

From the filmmaker:

After experiencing how a TV broadcast can reach millions and radically change the face of a disorder, I set out to make a film about people who live with dystonia. My hope was to make a film that would entertain and engage an audience while educating them, and, ultimately, lead to more people getting diagnosed faster.
—Laurel Chiten

Weaving together stories of three dystonia sufferers as they seek treatment and reckon with their disease, TWISTED reveals the agonies and challenges of this neurological disorder, taking us on a journey of courage and hope into the heart of the human condition.

Filmmaker Statement

Director Laurel Chiten shares her perspectives on future of dystonia research and on her experience with the disorder.
