- Former Weathermen member Bill Ayers says: “Did we do something that was horrendous, awful?… I don’t think so. I think what we did was to respond to a situation that was unconscionable.” Do you feel that violence is ever acceptable or justifiable when used as a means for change? If so, when?
- Critics of the Weathermen argue that the group’s tactics leaned more towards terrorism than progressive protest. Do you agree or disagree? What do you feel is the difference between a terrorist and a revolutionary?
- Bernardine Dohrn says that the "myth of the Sixties" might actually serve as a barrier for young activists today, who feel that their actions cannot live up to the movements of the past. What do you think is the "myth of the Sixties"? Do you think that the decade's legacy of activism has been distorted by history and if so, how?
