preview
broadcast
Wedding portrait of Bassam and Mariam (not smiling) sitting on a throne-type settee Bassam and Mariam at the wedding party in Ramallah dancing while women clap their hands and one holds a boom box in the background
From the shelling and violence of the West Bank to the quiet suburbs of Cleveland, A WEDDING IN RAMALLAH takes an intimate look at the arranged marriage of a Palestinian American man to a young woman from a traditional village. When Bassam brings his new bride back to the states, Mariam discovers that life in exile is not necessarily an easier alternative.
