Sandra Barnett
Delray Beach, FL

I'm a 42 year old who had a wonderful job and exciting career in Dallas. I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus 10 years ago and I worked the entire time, I just made changes to my lifestyle. I moved next door to my company so I didn't have a long commute, my sister moved in with me and when I was very ill she took care of me. Then while I was in Dallas living on my own, working as a supervisor for a large temporary employment agency, I was struck by Fibromyalgia. I got it so bad I could not move one morning, everything hurt even my fingernails. My cousin came and took me to the ER where they gave me very strong painkillers and sent me home. Now I am struggling with it everyday, I have the same pain everyday, flu like symptoms, pain in every inch of my body. It hurts to lay down, but sleep is what is best. They have not given me disability money because they say with this type of illness I can work, but I can't even make it up in the morning, or make it through a whole day. I have the following: Systemic Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Raynauds, Sjogrens Syndrome, Anti Nuclear blood disorder, Arthritis in certain areas, and Essential Tremors. All of these diseases I have gotten due to the Lupus. If I am not ill enough for disability then why do I take 11 different pills?

Sincerely,
Sandra Barnett
