Neal Kendall

Executive Producer, Tavis Smiley

Neal Kendall is the award-winning producer behind the launch of the new PBS late-night series hosted by Tavis Smiley.

The veteran talk show producer's credits include CNN's Larry King Live, CBS's The Late Late Show with Tom Snyder, and NBC's Later. In addition, Kendall currently produces a series for the Oxygen network hosted by Carrie Fisher. Conversations from the Edge with Carrie Fisher was recently nominated for a Women's Imaging Network award. Previously, Kendall received a Cable Ace award for his work on Larry King Live.

Kendall began his career with NBC in New York, with stints at CNBC and NBC Sports.

Originally from Texas, Kendall resides in Los Angeles.

Stev J. Stephens

Line Producer, Tavis Smiley

Stev Stephens has signed on as line producer for the new PBS late-night series hosted by Tavis Smiley.

Stephens' credits include the feature film Entering Out, CNBC's Jesse Ventura Live, and ABC's Letters From A Nut for Executive Producer Jerry Seinfeld. In addition, he has served as line producer for MTV Networks' Fear, Discovery's Singles Court, Fox's Shocking Behavior, and as a Unit Production Manager for UPN's America's Greatest Pets and sketch comedy producer for Buena Vista's Keenan Ivory Wayans Show.

With his business partner, Brian Livesay, Stephens operates Feckless Entertainment, which develops adventure shows that enlighten, inspire and entertain.

A Southern California native, Stephens resides in Manhattan Beach.

Denise Pines

Creative Consultant, The Smiley Group Inc.

Denise Pines is responsible for the strategic planning and business development for The Smiley Group, Inc. (TSG). TSG is a communications and advocacy firm that supports human rights and related empowerment issues. It serves as the holding company for Tavis Smiley Presents, Smiley Entertainment, and The Smiley Report, which together encompasses broadcast and print media, lectures, symposiums and the Internet. Prior to joining TSG, she was president of Pines One Publications where she received several awards for her trade publications.

Karen Hunte

Director Of Program Development, KCET

Karen Hunte oversees KCET's program development and production of drama series, documentaries, public affairs programs and international co-productions for the national PBS schedule. In addition to Tavis Smiley, she is the series producer of PBS Hollywood Presents and its productions of The Old Settler starring Debbie Allen and Phylicia Rashad, Collected Stories starring Linda Lavin, Copenhagen, a BBC co-production starring Stephen Rea and The Gin Game, starring Mary Tyler Moore and Dick Van Dyke. Prior to joining KCET, Hunte worked at Out of the Blue Productions at Sony Pictures where she developed the children's animated history series, Athena. She is also the producer and director of the acclaimed documentary, Living Positive, which explores the issue of women and AIDS. Hunte previously worked as a development executive at Warner Bros. Pictures, Twentieth Century Fox and Hollywood Pictures.
