Alexandra Kerry addresses the controversy surrounding her father's debate reference to Mary Cheney. Film vet Taylor Hackford reflects on working with Ray Charles and Jamie Foxx on the biopic, Ray.
Alexandra Kerry
Described by some as private, Alexandra Kerry may not relish her position in the public eye, but she's on a mission - to get her dad elected president. She's a graduate of Brown University, where she edited a weekly newspaper, and recently completed a master's in fine art from the American Film Institute. Kerry had a 17-minute film, The Last Full Measure, about a girl awaiting her father's return from Vietnam, in this year's Cannes film festival and is making a documentary about her dad's campaign.
Taylor Hackford
Award-winning director Taylor Hackford is a biopic veteran: the Ritchie Valens biography, La Bamba; the boxing documentary, When We Were Kings; and Chuck Berry: Hail! Hail! Rock and Roll. Oscar-buzz on his latest, Ray - 15 years in the making with Ray Charles - is high. Hackford began his show biz career at the L.A. PBS affiliate, KCET, where he created several documentaries and was an investigative reporter. His impressive list of film credits also includes The Devil's Advocate and An Officer and a Gentleman.
