Olympic gold medalist Joanna Hayes says hardships build character. Musician Henry Rollins discusses his USO visit to the troops in Iraq and his new TV show.
Joanna Hayes
When she won Olympic gold in the 100-meter hurdles in Athens, Joanna Hayes ran the race of her life. A long jumper in grade school, she started running hurdles as a high school junior. After a promising career at UCLA, Hayes just missed making the 2000 U.S. Olympic team and took a couple years off. She came back with a vengeance. In September, at Berlin's Golden League, Hayes again beat a world-class field in the sprint hurdles.
Henry Rollins
Henry Rollins makes music, acts, writes books, does spoken word performances and runs his own record label and book publishing company. After five years as frontman for the hardcore punk band Black Flag, he went his own way with Rollins Band. During the '90s, he toured as a spoken word artist, focusing on social topics and recounting his life experiences. Rollins is set to host a new TV show about movies, Henry's Film Corner, on cable's IFC.
