Los Angeles Times editorial page editor Andrès Martinez speculates on the upcoming elections in Iraq. Father-son singing duo Eddie and Gerald Levert reflect on the shifting focal points of their music and give a special performance.
Andrés Martinez
Journalist Andrés Martinez was recently named editor of the Los Angeles Times editorial page. A native of Mexico, he was previously the assistant editorial page editor at The New York Times, an editorial writer at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and a reporter at The Wall Street Journal. He was also a 2004 Pulitzer Prize finalist for editorial writing. Before working in journalism, Martinez practiced communications law in DC. He's the author of 24/7: Living It Up and Doubling Down in the New Las Vegas.
Eddie & Gerald Levert
Both love and talent bind Eddie Levert and his son Gerald. Between the two of them, they've sold millions of records and won countless awards. Eddie is an original member of the legendary R&B group the O'Jays. Gerald began rousing audiences in '85 with the group Levert and as a solo artist. At the urging of fans and family members, the two came together on the album 'Father And Son' in '95. As a team, they've also been successful at writing, arranging and producing. The pair recently launched their first joint concert tour in eight years.
