NASCAR chief Brian France discusses the exploding popularity of auto racing. The members of hip-hop trio De La Soul talk about the myth of rappers and rap lyrics.
Brian France
As NASCAR chairman and CEO, Brian France helms America's fastest growing spectator sport. A member of NASCAR's founding family, he replaced his father in the position. France was previously responsible for marketing and helped develop and manage the Weekly and Touring series, as well as the Truck Series. He is also the founder and chairman of NASCAR's Diversity Council. Advertising Age honored him as one of its top 100 marketers, and Promo Magazine named him one of its top promoters.
De La Soul
The hip-hop group De La Soul has influenced a generation of artists. The trio from Long Island, NY formed while attending high school in the late '80s. Offering an alternative to the hardcore rap that was dominant at the time, their debut album, 'Three Feet High and Rising,' is considered one of the seminal albums in hip-hop history. Some describe the group's style as eclectic, encompassing soul, pop, jazz, reggae and psychedelic genres. "The Grind Date" is De La Soul's first studio project in three years.
