Tavis talks to celebrated actor-director Maximilian Schell and to legendary musician Oscar Brown, Jr., in a repeat of his last televised interview, which also features his performance of "People of Soul."
Maximilian Schell
In a career spanning several decades, legendary actor Maximilian Schell has worked in numerous American and international productions, including The Freshman and HBO's Stalin. The Austrian native's star-making turn in Judgment At Nuremberg made him the only actor to win an Oscar for a role he originally performed on TV. Schell is also a successful filmmaker, who received an Oscar nod for his documentary Marlene. His current project is directing the L.A. Opera's production Der Rosenkavalier - his second for the company.
Oscar Brown, Jr.
Singer, composer, actor, playwright, director - Oscar Brown, Jr. "did his thing" in the entertainment industry for more than half a century. At age 15, the Chicago native made his debut in a national network radio series. At 21, while broadcasting news about "America's largest minority" on his Negro Newsfront radio program, Brown started composing songs as a hobby. He also began taking part in amateur theater productions as a singer, actor and director. He composed hundreds of songs and numerous full-length features.
