Pennsylvania Rep. Curt Weldon examines U.S. counterterror strategy. "Folk-soul" singer-songwriter Amos Lee reflects on his success and performs a song from his debut CD.
Curt Weldon
In his tenth term representing Pennsylvania, Rep. Curt Weldon has taken leadership roles on a variety of issues. He's a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, Vice Chair of the Homeland Security Committee and founder of the Homeland Security Caucus. In his book, Countdown to Terror, Weldon accuses the CIA of ignoring information. Fluent in Russian, he's made improving relations with Russia one of his major efforts. Weldon's public service includes Delaware County Council chair and two terms as a mayor.
Amos Lee
In February '04, Amos Lee was tending bar at the Tin Angel in his native Philly. Six months later, he played to a sold-out crowd at the same club. The elementary schoolteacher-turned-singer/songwriter has opened shows for Bob Dylan, B.B. King and Norah Jones. Lee began playing acoustic guitar and writing songs while attending the University of South Carolina. Influenced by early '70s artists, he wants his music to unite, uplift and inspire. Lee composed all the tracks on his self-titled Blue Note debut CD.
