Sherry Bebitch Jeffe is Senior Scholar at the University of Southern California's School of Policy, Planning and Development. She's also a contributing editor for the Los Angeles Times, a political analyst for KNBC4 in Los Angeles and a contributing editor for the California Journal. For the '00 election, she served as political analyst for BBC Scotland and BBC Wales. Dr. Jeffe regularly writes and comments on American and California government and politics in the state, national and international media.
Jared Diamond
Scientist Jared Diamond writes widely acclaimed books that the general public can understand. He won the Pulitzer Prize for his national best seller Guns, Germs, and Steel, which is the basis for a new PBS series. A professor of geography at UCLA, Diamond is also a conservationist who has participated in numerous field projects for the Indonesian government and World Wildlife Fund. In his newest book, Collapse, he explores critical lessons to be learned from the ecological collapses of past civilizations.
