Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions discusses the upcoming confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee John Roberts. Oscar-winner Tim Robbins explains his play-turned-TV movie, Embedded - a reaction to the war in Iraq.
Sen. Jeff Sessions
Sen. Jeff Sessions is a key member of the Judiciary Committee. He also chairs the Republican Steering Committee, a 'think tank' and action group for Senate conservatives. The Alabama native practiced law in his home state before being tapped by President Reagan to serve as U.S. Attorney. He was subsequently elected Attorney General. Sessions helped author the 'No Child Left Behind' law and played a leading role in insuring that the Medicare prescription drug law included a rural health care component.
Tim Robbins
Tim Robbins has a long list of notable acting credits including roles in Bull Durham, The Shawshank Redemption, Mystic River - for which he won an Oscar - and his latest, Catch a Fire. A gifted filmmaker and playwright, he's written, directed and produced several films, including Dead Man Walking. He also wrote and directed Embedded Live, a play about journalists in the Iraq war. Robbins is artistic director for The Actors' Gang and frequently uses his celebrity status to champion his causes.
