Wisconsin Sen. Russ Feingold debates the merits of staying in Iraq vs. protecting the U.S. from terrorists. Tavis pays a final tribute to John H. Johnson and Peter Jennings.
Sen. Russ Feingold
Considered by some a maverick voter, Wisconsin Sen. Russ Feingold is known for co-sponsoring major campaign finance reform legislation. His committee memberships include Judiciary and Foreign Relations, where he advocates making human rights a priority in U.S. foreign policy. The Rhodes Scholar and Harvard-trained lawyer was successful on his first try for elective office when, at age 29, he became state senator. In June, Feingold launched a PAC - a move usually seen as a step in running for President.
John H. Johnson Tribute
Founder, publisher and CEO of the Johnson Publishing Company, John H. Johnson started his business in the era of Jim Crow and navigated through the minefield of leveraged buyouts, mergers, acquisitions and hostile takeovers. His legacy of courage, conviction and commitment will live on in the pages of his magazines and through the efforts of those who celebrate the contributions African Americans make to humanity.
Peter Jennings Tribute
Peter Jennings started his career at ABC News, covering the civil rights movement in the South. It took two turns at the anchor desk before he 'got it right,' and the rest, as they say, is history. He started the Middle East Bureau for ABC News and embraced the diversity imperative. The sum total of Jennings' experiences made him keenly aware of and more sensitive to the global world in which we live.
