Virginia Gov. Mark Warner discusses his state's relief efforts following Hurricane Katrina. The West Wing's Allison Janney talks about her new film about the dark underside of life in suburbia, Chumscrubber.
Gov. Mark Warner
In his first term as governor, Mark Warner has taken Virginia from a $6 billion deficit to an expected $500 million surplus. The political neophyte campaigned as a fiscal conservative and is a self-professed centrist on social issues. Warner was the first college graduate in his family. Armed with a Harvard law degree, he helped create numerous telecommunications and information technology companies, including Nextel. He chairs the National Governors Association and is a potential candidate for a White House run in '08.
Allison Janney
Allison Janney has won several Emmys for her performance in NBC's The West Wing. She's also a Tony nominee for her work on the Broadway boards. Before suffering a serious childhood injury, Janney dreamed of becoming an Olympic figure skater. Instead Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward discovered her at Kenyon College. She went on to study drama in New York and at London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. Janney has appeared in several feature films, including American Beauty, Nurse Betty and the indies Chumscrubber and Our Very Own.
