Ron Christie reflects on his role as a former special assistant in the Bush-Cheney administration. Ice Cube and R.J. Cutler explain why they got involved in the FX series Black. White.
R.J. Cutler
Filmmaker R.J. Cutler won an Emmy for his acclaimed Fox series, American High, and an Academy Award nomination for his documentary, The War Room, which went behind the scenes of former President Bill Clinton's '92 campaign. Cutler produced the political reality show, American Candidate, and returns to the genre with his most recent effort, Black. White. The provocative six-part FX network original series, which he developed and exec produces, places race front and center of a sociological experiment.

Roll Call profiled Ron Christie as one of "10 rising stars...to watch." He's one of few who have served in senior positions for both President Bush and Vice President Cheney. Christie was special assistant to the president and deputy assistant for domestic policy to the vice president. After leaving the administration, he joined the Patton Boggs law firm. In '05, he became Global Government Affairs Director for Ruder Finn. Christie chronicles his experience as a staffer in his book, Black in the White House.
Ice Cube
Ice Cube began his career as a controversial rapper and has become a versatile actor and producer. An original member of the group N.W.A., he launched a solo career and became an icon of the hip-hop generation. His acting credits include Boyz 'N the Hood—his film debut—Three Kings and, his latest project, Are We Done Yet? The L.A. native created the Friday and Barbershop film franchises and exec-produced Beauty Shop and the FX TV series, Black. White. He also maintains a thriving musical career.
