John Prendergast, International Crisis Group senior advisor, gives an update on the crisis in Darfur. Actress Sharon Lawrence discusses her new television movie for Lifetime, Augusta, Gone.
John Prendergast
African affairs expert and human rights activist, John Prendergast has spent nearly two decades focusing on conflict resolution in Africa and shaping U.S. foreign policy toward the region. He's a senior advisor to the president of the nonprofit International Crisis Group. Prendergast worked for the Clinton administration and a variety of think tanks, including the U.S. Institute of Peace. He has authored/co-authored several books and Op-Ed pieces and is currently co-authoring a book with actor Don Cheadle.
Sharon Lawrence
Sharon Lawrence won a SAG Award and three Emmy nods for her performance on TV's NYPD Blue. She's also earned her Broadway stripes in such musicals as Zorba the Greek and Cabaret. The North Carolina native began her career as a singer-dancer. After studying journalism in college, Lawrence moved to NYC. She's starred in numerous telefilms, including Five Desperate Hours, which she also produced, and Lifetime's Augusta, Gone. She devotes time to nonprofit work for organizations like Project A.L.S.
