Univisión anchor Maria Elena Salinas discusses the immigration issues that prompted more rallies this week across the country. Religious scholar Karen Armstrong explains the path towards patience and enlightenment.

Journalist Maria Elena Salinas has covered just about every big story. The three-time Emmy-winner co-anchors Univisión's nightly newscast, the most watched Spanish-language news program in the U.S., and was named one of the 100 most influential Hispanics in the country. The L.A. native began her career on radio and, in her book, I Am My Father's Daughter, recounts the story of her successful career. Salinas sponsors a scholarship for students interested in Spanish-language news broadcasting.
Karen Armstrong
Karen Armstrong is one of the English-speaking world's leading commentators on religion. She was one of three intellectuals invited to speak in the U.N.'s first-ever session devoted to the subject. Since September 11, she's become known for her work on Islam and fundamentalism. A former Roman Catholic nun, the British scholar has written numerous books, including the international best-seller A History of God and The Case for God. In '08, she was awarded the TED Prize and is working with TED on a Charter for Compassion.
