Thomas Ricks
Journalist Thomas Ricks is often called the "dean" of America's military correspondents. He's been on two Pulitzer Prize-winning teams for national reporting—with The Washington Post, where he's currently senior Pentagon correspondent, and The Wall Street Journal. Ricks is also a best-selling author, with titles that include Making the Corps, A Soldier's Duty and Fiasco: The American Military Adventure In Iraq. The Massachusetts native grew up in New York and Afghanistan and is a Yale grad.
John Wells
Although producer-writer-director John Wells is accomplished in a wide variety of media, TV has earned him the most prominence. His credits include Third Watch, ER and The West Wing. This fall, he adds the CBS crime thriller Smith to the list. Wells grew up in Denver, Co. and, as a young man, worked as a "roadie" for Elton John, Linda Ronstadt and The Eagles. He was also a stage manager for the Denver County Dinner Playhouse. Wells has been nominated for both Peabody and Humanatis Awards.
